Application

A twisted reaction rudder is a rudder in which the control edge of the rudder blade is divided into two upper and lower sections with the axis of the propeller as the boundary, and the two sections are twisted to the left and right respectively. The rudder is arranged behind the propeller. In addition to satisfying the maneuverability of the ship, the twisted reaction rudder can also utilize the energy of the propeller wake-field, and the propeller drives the water backwards while gaining thrust. About 15% to 30% of the total propulsion energy remains in the wake field in the form of kinetic energy. The twisting rudder deflects a certain angle along with the profile at different heights of the rudder so that it fits better with the wake field of the propeller, which can better absorb the waking energy of the propeller and save energy.
