Guide Bar Flap Rudder - Marine Rudder Blade - Hi-sea

Guide Bar Flap Rudder

Guide Bar Flap Rudder

Application

Flap rudders are more and more used on ships because of their good rudder turning effect and simple structure. There are two types of flap rudders. One is to use the connecting rod or gear mechanism to make the flap rotation angle larger than the main rudder blade rotation angle when turning the rudder, so as to improve the maneuverability of the ship. Another type of flapped rudder has the flaps turned opposite to the main rudder blades, in order to reduce the torque of the rudder stock or use the flaps to operate the main rudder blades. The guide bar flap rudder is often used in medium-sized vessels such as cargo ships or passenger ferries, as it provides good maneuverability and responsiveness compared to traditional rudder designs. It is also commonly used in naval vessels and submarines, as it allows for improved stealth and underwater maneuverability.

Advantages and Features

1. High lifting coefficient and reduced turning diameter.

2. Increased steering quality of vessel.

3. Improve the navigation stability of vessel effectively.

4. Reduced rush-forward distance of vessel when braking.

5. Extended navigable zone and increased economic benefit of vessel.

6. Rotation axis bush of non-metal material with water lubrication, no pollution.
