Application
A marine controllable pitch (CP) aft tunnel thruster is a type of propulsion system used in ships and boats to provide additional maneuverability and control at the stern of the vessel. It consists of a controllable pitch propeller mounted in a tunnel at the aft of the vessel, perpendicular to the direction of travel. The CP design of the aft tunnel thruster means that the pitch of the propeller blades can be adjusted to provide variable thrust in both forward and reverse directions. This allows for more precise and efficient maneuvering of the vessel, particularly in confined spaces or rough sea conditions. CP aft tunnel thrusters are typically used in larger vessels, such as cargo ships and cruise liners, where maneuverability is important for docking and maneuvering in ports. They can provide excellent maneuverability in a variety of marine environments, allowing the vessel to move sideways, forwards, or backwards as required.
