High Lift Rudder

High Lift Rudder

Application

High-lift rudders have spherical edges with a movable flap and several blades, the semi-elliptical edges of the flaps producing greater lift. There are two purposes of flaps, that is, to increase the effective part of the rudder blade and to change the curvature of the rudder blade. The flap angle increases in proportion to the rudder angle, and the flaps are rounded to reduce sensitivity. This means that it is much easier to correct course with the autopilot than with a normal flapped rudder, while reducing the propulsion drag of the vessel. The high lift rudder is designed to provide improved hydrodynamic efficiency and maneuverability by generating higher lift forces than traditional rudder designs. This is achieved by shaping the rudder blade to optimize the flow of water around it, increasing the pressure differential between the front and back of the rudder blade and generating more lift.

Advantages and Features

1.High lifting coefficient and reduced turning diameter.

2.Increased steering quality of vessel.

3.Improve the navigation stability of vessel effectively.

4.Reduced rush-forward distance of vessel when braking.

5.Extended navigable zone and increased economic benefit of vessel.

6.Rotation axis bush of non-metal material with water lubrication, no pollution.
