GB Marine Valve

GB Marine Valve

1.GB Marine Valve Introduction:

GB Marine Valve refers to a type of valve that is commonly used in marine applications. GB stands for "Guobiao," which is a Chinese national standard that covers a wide range of products, including marine valves.

GB Marine Valve is used for opening and closing the pipe, controlling the flow direction, regulating and controlling the parameters (temperature, pressure and flow) of the conveying medium.

GB Marine Valves manufactured must undergo various product performance tests. The most important is to test the pressure. Test pressure is to test whether the GB Marine Valve can withstand pressure to meet the requirements of production regulations.

GB Marine Valves are subject to strict quality control and are tested to meet various international standards, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

In order to reduce costs, omit raw materials and reduce internal quality, resulting in the thin wall of the valve body that accounts for the main body of the valve.

Leaving a safety hazard, the thin wall is easy to break or leak the valve at high temperature and high pressure or during operation.

Strictly in accordance with the standard processing, uniform thickness, uniform material.

Use it with confidence, meet the needs of users, and the product has a long service life.

The valve cover is of poor manufacturing quality, uneven thickness, and uneven material.

The valve cover is prone to breakage, blisters, corrosion or aging problems.

Strictly in accordance with the standard processing, uniform thickness.

The quality of the valve cover is good, it is not easy to generate air holes, and the product has a long service life.

The packing quality is poor, and there are defects such as loose packing, burrs, dryness, impurities, etc.

Lead to packing failure, easy to produce medium leakage, valve easy to malfunction.

High-quality fillers are selected, and there is no loose, impurity and other phenomena.

The valve has good sealing and wear resistance, and it is not easy to cause leakage of the medium, and the valve has a longer service life.

The hardness of the valve stem is too low, there are cracks, the valve stem is not round, and the valve stem is not bent straight.

The stem sealing surface is easily damaged and the valve service life is short.

Materials are selected according to standards and customer requirements.

The valve stem has high hardness, no cracks, good sealing performance, and long service life of the valve.

To reduce cost, bronze spool is replaced with cast iron spool.

Cast iron valve core is easy to corrode and break

The material is selected strictly according to the user's requirements.

High safety factor and reasonable structure.

4. Matters needing attention in Marine Valve pressure test:

General Marine valve test pressure must conform to the following principles and precautions:

1. Valve strength testing should not be performed under normal conditions. However, the strength or corrosion damage of body and bonnet shall be tested after repair. For the safety valve, its constant pressure, back pressure and other tests should be conform to the introductions and related programs.

2. Valve installation shall be tested for strength and density. The low-pressure valve shall be inspected 20%, shall be inspected 100% if not qualified. Medium-pressure valves shall be checked 100%

3. The installation site of valve should be in an easy to inspect direction in the process of testing.

4. Welded joint valves may be tested with conical or O-ring seals when pressure testing with bone plates.

5. Please remove air from valve as far as possible during the hydraulic test.

6. The pressure should continue to build and should not apply pressure suddenly in the process of testing.

7. Strength test and seal test duration, usually for 2-3 minutes, the important and special valve should be continued for 5 minutes Small valve test time can be shortened accordingly, large diameter valve test time can be longer during the test, if in doubt, can extend the test time in strength test, do not allow the body and cover sweating or leakage. During seal testing, only one valve is usually required, while relief valves, high pressure valves and other materials are performed twice. Minor leaks are allowed for low-pressure large diameter non-essential valves and leak-permitting valves;Due to the requirements of general valves, power station valves, Marine valves and other valves, they should meet the leakage requirements and comply with the relevant regulations.

8. Throttle valves cannot be sealed and tested of seal, but strength and seal tests should be performed on packing and gaskets.

9. In the pressure test, the closing force of the valve can only close one person's normal physical strength; Cannot be forced through tools such as levers (except torque wrenches). When the diameter of the hand wheel is greater than 320 mm, the two can be combined.

10. Remove the upper seal valve for leak testing. After sealing, check for leakage. When testing at the gas station, check the stuffing box for water. Do not place the upper gasket in a tight position for packing tightness tests.

11. For valves with actuation, test the seal by closing the valve with actuation. For manual drives, leak tests should also be performed to close the valve.

12. After the strength test and sealing test, the by-pass valve installed on the main valve shall be tested for strength and sealing. When the closing part of the main valve is opened, it should be opened accordingly.

13. To test the strength of cast iron valves, check for leaks by striking the body and bonnet with a copper hammer.

14. When testing the valve, do not allow oiling on the sealed surface except for plug valves that allow oiling on the sealed surface.

15. When the valve is pressure tested, the pressure of the blind plate on the valve plate should not be so great as to prevent the valve from deforming (which can result if the cast iron valve is too tight). Damage).

16. After the valve pressure test is completed, the water in the valve shall be cleaned promptly and the test record shall be made.
