Application

A rudder pintle is a pin or bolt that is used to attach the rudder blade to the rudder stock in a marine vessel. Pintles are typically made of high-strength materials such as steel or stainless steel, which are able to withstand the bending and torsional stresses that are generated during steering. Pintles are attached to the trailing edge of the rudder blade and are designed to fit into matching fittings, called gudgeons, that are attached to the rudder stock. The pintles and gudgeons allow the rudder blade to pivot and steer the vessel. The number and size of pintles used on a rudder blade can vary depending on the size and type of vessel. Larger vessels may require multiple pintles to distribute the steering loads evenly, while smaller vessels may only require one or two pintles. The rudder pintle is a part of rudder system. A pintle is a bolt used to attach a rudder to a rudder post or to a hanging arm. It is generally made into a conical body. The rudder pintle is divided into upper pintle and lower pintle according to location and function. Test: 100% ultrasonic flaw detection test.
