Marine lighting fixture

Marine lighting fixture

Description

Marine lighting fixtures are specialized lighting fixtures designed to be used in marine environments, such as on boats, ships, and other watercraft. These fixtures are designed to be durable and resistant to the harsh conditions of the marine environment, including saltwater, humidity, and vibration. Marine lighting fixtures include navigation lights, which are required by law to be installed on boats and ships to indicate the vessel's position and direction of travel. Other types of marine lighting fixtures include interior and exterior lights, floodlights, searchlights, and underwater lights. These fixtures are available in a range of styles, sizes, and materials to suit different types of vessels and applications.

Different marine lights

Navigation signal lights, marine fluorescent lights, marine incandescent lights, marine spot lights, marine explosion-proof lights, marine LED lights, marine outdoor lights, marine indoor lights, marine electric connectors, etc.

Illuminant:

Cold Illuminant: Use illuminant of chemical energy, electricity energy excitation. Such as LED/EL energy saving light, optical fiber fluorescent light, etc.

Hot illuminant: Use illuminant of energy excitation. Such as incandescent light, tungsten halogen light, high-pressure mercury light, metal halide light, etc.

Standard & authentication:

Standard: The International Regulations for Preventings Collision at Sea,1972 and Grade Entry Norms for Steel Ships, IEC60598-1-2008, GB/T 3028-1995.

Certification: CCS, CE, GL, etc.

Maintenance of marine lights:

1. Regular inspection: Regular inspection of the marine lights is essential to ensure their proper functioning. Check the light's housing, lens, wiring, and bulbs for any damage, cracks, or corrosion.

2. Cleaning: The marine lights must be cleaned regularly to remove salt and dirt buildup that can affect their performance. Use a soft cloth and mild detergent to clean the lights.

3. Lubrication: Lubricate the moving parts of the marine lights, such as the swivels and hinges, to prevent rust and corrosion. Use marine-grade lubricant for this purpose.

4. Electrical connections: Check the electrical connections of the marine lights regularly to ensure they are secure and free of corrosion. Corrosion can cause poor connectivity, leading to poor performance or even failure.

5. Bulbs replacement: Replace the bulbs of the marine lights regularly as they tend to wear out over time. Use the appropriate bulbs recommended by the manufacturer.

6. Waterproofing: Marine lights are exposed to water, and it is essential to ensure they are waterproof. Check the gaskets and seals of the lights regularly and replace them if necessary.

7. Storage: Store the marine lights in a dry place when not in use. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures, which can damage the lights.

Common materials for marine lighting:

Stainless steel: It is commonly used for marine lighting fixtures due to its corrosion-resistant properties and durability.

Anodized aluminum: It is a lightweight and corrosion-resistant material that is commonly used in marine lighting fixtures.

Bronze: It is a strong and corrosion-resistant material used for marine lighting fixtures that require a traditional or classic appearance.

Plastic: It is commonly used for low-cost marine lighting fixtures, but it may not be as durable or long-lasting as metal fixtures.

Glass: It is used for marine lighting fixtures that require a clear or colored lens to distribute light. Tempered glass is preferred due to its strength and resistance to breakage.

Polycarbonate: It is a lightweight, shatterproof, and impact-resistant material used in marine lighting fixtures that require high durability.

LED (Light Emitting Diode) chips: These are used to provide lighting in marine fixtures due to their energy efficiency, durability, and long life span.
