Briefly describe the heat transfer effect of the flame arrester

What is flame arrester ?

Flame arresters are safety devices used to prevent the spread of flammable gases and flammable liquid vapors. It is usually installed in a pipeline for conveying flammable gas, or a ventilated tank, and a device for preventing the propagation of flame (detonation or detonation), which is composed of a fire-resistant core, a flame arrester casing and an accessory.

What is the heat transfer effect of the flame arrester ?

One of the necessary conditions for combustion is to reach a certain temperature, that is the ignition point. In other words, below the point of ignition, the combustion will stop. Based on this principle, when the flame passes through many small passages of the fire-stopping element, it will become a small flame.  When designing the fire-blocking element inside the flame arrester, the contact area between the small flame and the channel wall is enlarged as much as possible, and the heat transfer is enhanced to lower the flame temperature below the ignition point, thereby preventing the flame from spreading.
