HI-SEA MARINE successfully delivered the HSD-161 Piston Electric Whistle to the UAE. is equipped with a phase sequencer combined by a AC Solid State Relay with non-fire contactor and water, explosion & leakage proof, also the sound & light signal control in type WDK-2 for alarm & abandon ship, in order to meet the Rule 35, 36 of COLREG 1972 and SOLAS.

Before start production, HI-SEA MARINE sent the drawings to clients for confirmation. After finished the whistle production, the quality department and technical department carried out all kind of tests. After that the CCS surveyor also carried out all tests. All the test of the Whistle meet the expected design standards and the rules of CCS.

The conventional whistles for ships need an air compressor and a storage tank to transmit the air to the whistle via a pipe. In this way, troubles are created in installation and operation. What's more, quite a volume of air is always required in the tank, otherwise, the sound of the whistle will be unstable and the tone will be unharmonious.

Such disadvantages had affected the application of air whistle. Thus the electric piston had been developed and widely used international since 1980s. Its general feature is that the air storage tank and pipe are integrated in the whistle. Compared to the conventional whistle, the air tank and pipe are not needed, resulting in the simple installation and operation. The cost is reduced. As long as a distributor for power supply is provided, the whistle can start work.

The Electric Piston Whistle type HSD produced by our factory is reliable with good performance. It is equipped with a phase sequencer combined by a AC Solid State Relay with non-fire contactor and water, explosion & leakage proof, also the sound & light signal control in type WDK-2 for alarm & abandon ship, in order to meet the Rule 35, 36 of COLREG 1972 and SOLAS. All signals can be automatic, manual and remote control. Such equipment provides the electric piston whistle type HSD better functions, ensuring the navigation more safety, fully meeting the requirements of international vessel whistles. National patent has been applied for the product.

The WDK-2 controller  meets the requirements on sound and light signals stipulated in “Convention on the International Regulation for Preventing Collisions at Sea”  (COLREG).

According to item 35 in “COLREG”: Sound signals should be used in poor visibility. (Poor visibility refers to limited visibility under the circumstances of fog, dust-storm, snow, storm, sand storm and etc.) The sound signals of the product:

(3)When vibration frequency is 2～13.2HZ, displacement amplitude is±1mm. when vibration frequency is +13.2～80HZ, acceleration amplitude is±7%.

(4) The voltage of the control is within +6%～-10% of the rated voltage. It can work safely when the frequency change is within±5% of the rated frequency.
