The steel grade of the ship building plate is ABS grade B, which is equivalent with BVB, CCSB, NV B, GL-B, KRB, LRB, KB, RINA-B. ABS grade B steel is a kind of hot rolled general tensile strength steel. The ABS B grade steel plates have yield strength of 34,100 psi (235 MPa), and ultimate tensile strength of 58,000-75,500 psi (400-520 MPa). ABS steels come 4 grades in ordinary-strength steel for shipbuilding and grade B is one of them.The ABS B grade steel plates are mainly used for ship repairing, the offshore oil drilling platform and other components.It is noted that the grade of normalized plate is AB/BN, however, the grade of hot rolled steel and controlled rolled steel is AB/B.
