Application

Countershaft is a connecting shaft between the main motor and the reducer, or between the main motor and the gear stand, or between the main motor and the universal shaft. A countershaft, also known as a layshaft, is a component of a marine propulsion system that is used to transmit power from the engine to the propeller shaft. The countershaft is typically installed parallel to the propeller shaft and is equipped with one or more pulleys or gears to transfer torque from the engine to the propeller shaft.
